Arsenal have made their first move to sign ‘world-class’ striker

Arsenal

Arsenal are interested to sign a striker for a long time now. They are looking at options in that position with Brentford’s Ivan Toney being a strong candidate. But the Gunners also have their eyes on Napoli’s ‘world-class’ striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian has been one of the best talents in Europe for past season. Osimhen is set to sign a new contract with Napoli soon, making it unlikely for Arsenal to persuade him. However, the Gunners have made their first move by contacting the Nigerian’s agent. According to Italian journalist Ciro Venerato has said that Arsenal have indeed initiated the signing of Osimhen. He revealed that Chelsea are also in pursuit to sign Victor Osimhen.

Victor Osimhen to Arsenal would be one of the best transfers

Ciro Venerato said, as reported by Area Napoli,

“The last stumbling block was the termination clause of the contract, which is now outdated: 130 million is the right figure, but it cannot be ruled out that it could be 140 million if clubs with a high turnover approached him.
The Nigerian will tie himself to the Italian champions until 2026, extending by just one year. In fact, it is a planned farewell, a gentleman’s pact to leave without resentment. Osimhen will have a salary of €10 million. There will also be a signing bonus. Arsenal have already sounded out agent Calenda, Chelsea are also on his trail.”

Arsenal do need a striker in their squad and Osimhen could be a perfect fit for them.

Osimhen hailed as a ‘world-class’ striker

If Arsenal can sign him in January, then the Premier League title won’t be far from their reach this season. The Nigerian is more than a prolific goal scorer who can rake 20-30 goals a season according to his talent. The Capocannoniere Award winner with 26 goals was termed ‘world-class’ by former Arsenal player Folarin Balogun earlier. The main thing to see is whether or not Arsenal have the funds to land him in January.
