Antonio Rudiger demands €400k per week from Chelsea.

About Football Express UK

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger was close to renewing his contract but according to new rumours, he might leave the club. Chelsea had offered a new contract to the German international but the offer was not appealing from Rudiger’s view.

Antonio Rudiger had joined Chelsea in 2017 but it was in the 2020/21 season that he excelled. The partnership with ex Chelsea player Kurt Zouma or sometimes trio with Thiago Silva proved effective. The German international has proven his worth as a key part of Chelsea’s defence. According to Le 10 Sport, Antonio Rudiger may reportedly join Paris Saint Germain.

Paris Saint Germain already have good defenders like Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe. These defenders have already proven to be efficient after reaching the finals in 2019/20 and semis in 2020/21. The intentions are to strengthen their squad depth with Sergio Ramos already present, their backline will be formidable.

Do Chelsea need Rudiger? Jules Kounde transfer rumour collapsed?

Chelsea was very close to signing him but the price tag caused an issue. Initially, the price tag was around €40 million but then it rose to €68 million.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prefers to play Harry Maguire. In the past, the Manchester United manager has reportedly stated that Harry Maguire is the club captain and is a key part of the squad.  Since Raphael Varane also has a starting position in the squad it is also unlikely for Jules Kounde to play regularly at Manchester United.

According to El Nacional, Jules Kounde is now reportedly interested in Manchester United due to worries about game time at Real Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti. Chelsea needs the likes of a top-class defender like Antonio Rudiger but will not stop chasing Jules Kounde because of the situations at Manchester United and Real Madrid.
