Youri Tielemans being considered as part of a swap deal with Bernd Leno for Arsenal

Arsenal are said to be interested in a swap deal that includes Bernd Leno and Youri Tielemans with Leicester.

Leno has now become the third-choice goalkeeper for the Gunners. He was the second choice after Ramsdale was signed last summer. However, he was pushed further below the pecking order after the Gunners signed Matt Turner this summer.

Leno has a year left on his contract and he desperately wants to leave the Emirates this season.

He was on the verge of signing for Fulham and a fee was also agreed upon by Fulham for the German.

Leicester’s interest in Leno could be taken advantage of by Arsenal

Leicester’s interest in Leno has grown in recent weeks. This has been because Kasper Schmeichel is bound for a move to the French side of Nice.

Therefore, the Express reports that Arsenal could ‘take advantage’ of the Foxes interest in the German goalkeeper. In this way, they could pitch in with their demand for Tielemans.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is still said to be scouting the market for a midfielder. Despite signing Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira this season, Tielemans was a long-time target of the Gunners.

Similar to Leno, Tielemans too has a year left on his contract. This has made the Arsenal camp a little optimistic about acquiring him in the coming days. The Belgian comes with a price tag of £ 30 million which could easily be met by the Gunners.

During the last few months, Arsenal’s interest in the 25-year-old seems to have grown cold somewhat. Moreover, there were doubts among the Arsenal hierarchy about his ‘physicality’. However, now the London club have been presented with an opportunity to acquire the player in this current transfer window.

Tielemans had a fruitful season this time as well. He scored four goals and provided six assists in the 32 games that he played.
