Yerry Mina is wanted by a French Ligue 1 club

About Football Express UK

Marseille wants Everton defender Yerry Mina. The French Ligue side are interested in signing the player for next season. Mina underwent an injury-felt season and made a comeback for the last game of the season where he scored a goal. Mina just starred in 13 appearances and Everton suffered because of it. They missed the 27-year-old leadership and defensive abilities. However, Frank Lampard, the manager, is looking to make massive changes and he might have to sell Mina. His price is around 20 million euros.

Yerry Mina moving

Marseille can offer Yerry Mina Champions League football and this might attract the player. Yerry Mina made around 91 appearances since 2018 in all competitions. Also, Inter Milan and Fiorentina are attracted to this transfer. Mina is earning around one hundred and twenty thousand pounds a week. Also, his current deal has two years left. This is Everton’s chance to recover at least part of the 27 million pounds they paid for him. If they do not sell, his price will drop further.

In addition, by selling Mina, Everton’s financial situation might improve because they will free up the wage bill. Even though Everton missed Yerry Mina, they will want to sell him this summer. The club holds Mina in high regard. He is a big player for Everton and is important but he has not yet been handed a new deal. It has been four years since Mina has arrived from Barcelona for a large fee and thus the club have a good idea about his fitness. It is not in the best of positions. This may be the reason for them not giving him a new contract.

Everton risks losing their best centre back but they have not got another backup. Ben Godfrey did not come for cheap but has not really impressed much. Money has been spent on various other players but none of them actually have the ability to meet the standards set by Mina.
