Wolves welcome Manchester City in the league, as they hope to keep their chances of qualifying for Europe alive. On the other hand, Manchester City are in pole position now to defend their league title and won’t want to slip up to let Liverpool slide back into the title race. Wolves need maximum points from their remaining games to have a shot at European football. However, the teams above them in the table should be dropping points as well. City shrugged off their Champions League disappointment in some style, thrashing Newcastle 5-0 in their last game.
Wolves have a chance to go two points within seventh-placed West Ham with a win against Manchester City. West Ham currently occupies the last European spot and Wolves will want to put pressure on them. Moreover, their dramatic draw in the last game against Chelsea should give them more confidence going against City. But it won’t be easy for them as Pep’s team is looking to clinch its fourth league title in the last five years.

Manchester City smashed five past Newcastle United to go three points clear of Liverpool, improving their goal difference as well. Now their only aim will be to win the remaining three games and redeem their season by lifting a second consecutive league title on the last match-day. Moreover, Manchester City have won five out of their last six league games and will be looking to make it a fifth straight win against the Wolves.

Wolves vs Manchester City: Team news
The Wolves’ team news
Wolves will still be without the services of Nelson Semedo and Maximilian Kilman for the Manchester City game. Further on, Daniel Podence is doubtful for the game, however, if available would still start on the bench. Wolves could ring in a couple of changes to the starting eleven from their last game against the European Champions.
A three-man midfield worked for Wolves last time out, and they could keep it the same here. Chiquinho grabbed both the assists against Chelsea, but should again expect to play a role through coming-on rather than starting.
Wolves’ possible starting line-up:
Sa; Boly, Coady, Saiss; Jonny, Dendoncker, Neves, Moutinho, Ait-Nouri; Jimenez, Hee-Chan
The Cityzens’ team news
Pep Guardiola is in huge trouble as he will be without three defenders for the rest of the season. Ruben Dias, John Stones and Kyle Walker will all miss this as well as the remaining two games. Aymeric Laporte is the only centre-back available, as Nathan Ake has still not recovered from an ankle injury. Therefore, Fernandinho should start as the centre-back against Wolves as he has former experience of playing in that role for Manchester City.
Cancelo could be shifted to right-back with Zinchenko starting at left-back. Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden should also return to starting eleven while Sterling may keep his place after scoring a brace against Newcastle.
Manchester City’s possible starting lineup:
Ederson; Cancelo, Fernandinho, Laporte, Zinchenko; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Foden, Sterling
Our Prediction
Wolves 1-2 Manchester City
Manchester City look set for another three points against Wolves here. However, they may not achieve it in the same fashion as they did last time out. But a close encounter could ensue between the two sides. Wolves will certainly look to exploit City’s problems at the back, even spoiling their clean sheet. But a win and a step closer to the league title is what we are expecting for City.
