Following a disappointing draw against Everton in midweek, Chelsea will go head-to-head against Wolverhampton Wanderers in a crucial Premier League encounter on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues are currently going through a difficult time as they have only won two games in their last six games in all competitions. Following this slump, Thomas Tuchel’s side has slipped down from the top of the league and are currently sitting third with 37 points from 17 games, four points behind the league leader Manchester City.
On the other hand, Wolverhampton also had a tough time in recent weeks but have bounced back brilliantly in their last game against Brighton & Hove Albion where they came away victorious by 1-0. Bruno Lage’s side is currently eighth in the table with 24 points in 17 games.
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Chelsea: Preview
Wolves have conceded only 14 goals in this campaign and they are the best defensive side after the top three teams in the Premier League. However, their biggest issue is scoring goals. As they have only scored 13 goals so far, only better than the bottom side Norwich City who has scored eight goals.
On the other hand, after starting the season with an excellent defensive display, Chelsea has started to lose their way a bit as they have conceded 11 goals in the last six games in all competitions. With the players failing to show precision in front of the goal, the defence needs to be compact to win games regularly.
