This season Manchester United have signed players who would be classified as world-class and have won a trophy or more last season. Manchester United have spent a lot in the window this season and have made re-enforcement in certain aspects.
Last season Manchester United finished second in the Premier League just behind Manchester City. They also finished as runners-up in the UEFA Europe League. Which many would call that season a success or one which broke expectations but that is not the case. Manchester United last season had one of the best squads in the league and could have won a trophy. But due to their tendency of not being able to convert their chances and also let a lot of goals go past their goalkeeper.
Due to which this season the club has gone on to sign players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho. While it might seem the club has decided to only invest in 3 new players. One should realise how talented and skilled the players in the team are. Players such as Bruno Fernandes, Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire just to name a few.
What Can Manchester United do to win a Trophy this season?
Well to start with, Manchester United will need to decide a system based on which player. Last season they used to have a system to get the highest output from Bruno Fernandes which did score a lot. They could do the same this year but for that system to work, they needed a striker who is comfy to press. So mostly there would be a system chance to make sure that Cristiano Ronaldo can score the most. While it can be seen that Ronaldo doesn’t pressure as much from the front. Manchester United will need to utilize a system like the 4-3-3 with Cristiano Ronaldo as the lone striker.
This is so as he could play as a poacher and also as a target man who could be at the end of the crosses. Manchester united if they wish to win the title, will need to make sure to push their players forward. Due to Manchester United playing quite counter-attacking football and defending in a deep block, they haven’t been as creative. They will need to trust their defensive line and allow their midfielders to bomb forward. If Manchester United allow their creative midfielders to display their skill, and allow the freedom to make risky passes.
