West Ham United vs Burnley: Preview and Predicted Line-up

About Football Express UK

West Ham United will be hosting the struggling Burnley side on Sunday afternoon in a crucial Premier League encounter at the London Stadium.

David Moyes’ side will be coming into this game full of confidence after beating Olympique Lyonnais by 3-0 in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals. Following this victory, they have secured their place in the semi-final of this competition where they will encounter Eintracht Frankfurt.

Meanwhile, the Hammers haven’t enjoyed a great spell in the Premier League over the past few weeks, losing three of their last five games. They also had to endure a disappointing defeat against Brentford by 2-0 in the last league game.

The Londoners are currently sitting sixth in the table with 51 points in 32 games. Six points behind the fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, having played an extra game.

On the other hand, Burnley are struggling this season and are looking likely to go down this season. They surprisingly sacked their long-serving manager Sean Dyche with only eight games still to play. The Clarets have appointed their club captain, Ben Mee as the interim boss and he will be helped by the youth coaches.

Burnley have won only once in their last seven Premier League games and lost five. The loss to bottom side Norwich City has forced the club’s hierarchy into making this tough decision at this stage of the season.

Meanwhile, the reverse fixture between these two sides finished goalless in December. However, the hosts will be eyeing to take the full three points from this encounter to keep their hopes alive to finish in the top four spot.
