West Ham United look to hijack Liverpool’s target

Liverpool had shown interests in signing LOSC Lille’s Amadaou Onana. The Reds made a bid in the region of 27M earlier. However West Ham United have came on the scene and have made an improved offer at 38M. Lille are seriously considering West Ham’s offer and are allowing them to hijack Liverpool’s transfer target.

Onana arrived at Lille a year ago from Hamburg for a fee around 7M. Lille are aiming for a profit as they have received a bid near 38M from West Ham. This is the third bid West Ham have made for Onana so far. Although the earlier bids were rejected, This time Lille are considering cashing out. David Moyes is determined to bring the midfielder to the London Stadium.

West Ham are frontrunners

Onana made 42 appearances for Lille across all competitions last year, Although he only started in 15 games. Moreover he received game time in the Champions League in all 8 games Lille played. Onana also featured in the RO16 fixture against Chelsea. The midfielder has been very impressive for Lille and his performances has made several clubs shown interest. Several Premier League clubs have shown interests including the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, However West Ham have been the club who’s been front runners so far. Even the newly promoted Nottingham Forest are also eyeing the 20 year old.

Although there are several clubs in the run, The midfielder is keen to join West Ham United. Moreover West Ham are the only clubs to get rejected and still be in the run. According to sources, Lille are likely to hold out until the bid reaches 50M. If West Ham are really serious, They have to submit an offer around 50M. Although Arsenal and Liverpool have the funding to get Onana.
