West Ham United in advanced negotiations with Sassuolo for Gianluca Scamacca

Flamengo is not in touch

West Ham United are in advanced negotiations with Serie A side Sassuolo for Gianluca Scamacca in the transfer window this summer.

The Hammers are interested to secure the services of the Italian League outfit and close the deal very soon. Moreover, the club has placed a bid in the region of about £40 million for Scamacca’s potential move this summer.

However, the Italian club believes that the player is worth £50 million and will deal if an offer close to that appears. Meanwhile, the player and West Ham have both reached personal agreement but the club are still to agree with Sassuolo.

PSG were among clubs interested to make a swoop for the player but find the £50 million tag too high.

West Ham to secure the deal for Scamacca

According to Sky Sports Gianluca Di Marzio, the first bid that the Hammers placed was not good enough for Sassuolo. The Serie A outfit rates him very high and want to squeeze every penny out of his transfer this summer.

West Ham manager David Moyes would be really keen to have him at the London Stadium next season. The striker netted 16 goals in 36 matches during his stint with the Serie A club last season.

With the London side pushing hard for his move, the player’s inclusion in the squad could be a vital addition. Scamacca is just the kind of profile Moyes requires at West Ham for the next season if he wants goals.

Moreover, the club won’t have to suffer much in the attacking front line to create chances and score, unlike last season. Scamacca could burst into the limelight with West Ham with his attacking prowess if a move is facilitated.

The agreement could well be reached soon and a move to the London Stadium may happen in the coming weeks.
