United and Chelsea monitoring Vardy

Jamie Vardy

Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly maintaining close scrutiny on Jamie Vardy and his contract situation at Leicester City. The 35-year-old striker, who had a bunch of injuries last season, has just 12 months left in his contract. Brandon Rogers looks to be on the course of planning a team without Patson Daka to Kelechi Iheanacho whenever necessary.

According to 90Min, the Blues and Red Devils are both keeping an eye on the situation. But they are only two of a “number” of PL clubs that are considering a swoop for the ex-England international.

The Foxes seem to not have any dialogue till now with Jamie Vardy over his contract till now. According to what Brandon Rogers said, they aren’t worried about the situation. This might give some hope to United and Chelsea over Vardy.

90Min quoted Brandon Rodgers saying:

“There probably will have been some discussions behind the scenes, but at this moment in time, we’re quite relaxed on it. He’s very happy here. I’m sure we’ll assess it and look at it in the summer,”

A bunch of injury problems plagued his last season. The England international still scored 17 goals and two assists in 33 appearances for Leicester last term. This also includes 15 strikes from 25 Premier League outings. Jamie Vardy can be a good addition to both United and Chelsea squads as both of them look for more lethal players in front of the goal.

Vardy can be a good addition to both Chelsea and United

The Englishman is a noted late bloomer to the big boy club of football. Nevertheless, he has scored 164 goals and created 63 more in 385 matches for the Foxes, including 133 Premier League goals. United and Chelsea both desperately need to keep track of the situation and not let go in case any opportunity comes up to grab Vardy.
