Transfers: Wolves sign £42.2m rated Sporting Lisbon midfielder

Wolves have completed the signing of midfielder Matheus Nunes from Sporting Lisbon in the transfer window this summer.

The Premier League outfit completed a club-record signing in Nunes for a fee of £42.2m that includes add-ons. This is the third signing this summer made by Wolves and a pretty impressive move made for the future.

Nunes has been touted as one of the best midfielders in the world who can create a lot of impact on the pitch. Undoubtedly, the club have made a vital signing in the Sporting midfielder and will hope he gets going well.

The new signing by the club has played an instrumental role in the Portuguese league during his stint with Sporting.

Moreover, chairman Jeff Shi spoke with the club’s official website to share the signing and expressed his delight. He said-

“We are very happy to welcome Matheus to Wolverhampton, and delighted to add another exciting young talent to Bruno’s squad.

 So we are thrilled that he has chosen the Premier League and Wolves as the next step in what we hope will be a fantastic career.”

Moreover, Nunes too shared his excitement about donning the yellow outfit for the new season, he said-

 “I’m very excited.

“I think the club itself [convinced him] and also I spoke to some of my teammates because I play with them for the national team.

The coach as well, he really wanted me, and I wanted to play in the Premier League. I think it’s the right next step for me and I’m very happy to be here.”
