Manchester United have targeted Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries. United are in the market to get players in a number of positions in the Summer. This also includes the right-back position as Diego Dalot and Aaron Wan Bissaka have been poor for United.
United have lacked creativity this Summer as they have been unable to create chances. Moreover United have not had the opportunity of having a decent right-back for the longest time. Aaron Wan Bissaka and Diego Dalot have disappointed as they not only failed defensively they also could not add much in the final third. Wan Bissaka was the first-choice right-back in the first half of the season during Ole Gunnar Solskaer’s tenure. However, he lost his place once Ralf Rangnick came in. Rangnick preferred Dalot however he was not able to add much to the squad. This led to United’s worst finish post, Ferguson.
Denzel Dumfries is likely to leave Inter Milan in the Summer after being part of the team since 2016. Dumfries was an integral part of Inter’s squad that won the Scudetto the season before. However, Dumfries is to leave Inter in search of a new challenge.
Dumfries: A good signing?
Dumfries would be a great signing as he is fast and quick on his feet. Moreover, he has the exceptional technical ability and great passing ability as well. Erik Ten Hag plays possession-based football and likes quick passing link-up play. Moreover, he demands his players to give their all and ensure the play remains as quick as possible. Dumfries possess all the properties Ten Hag demands and could potentially be the perfect option for United.
Dumfries would be one of the new additions to the squad as Ten Hag targets other players like Frenkie De Jong and Christopher Nkunku. The former is very close to signing for United.
