Transfers: United launch 55m for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

About Football Express UK

Manchester United are in the market for a new midfielder. They have launched a 55m bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

United have had midfield problems for a while. Ever since Ander Herrera left the club, United have been in absolute shambles. They have had a lack of defensive midfielders in the squad. This meant that United had to play two players in one position. United had to use Scott McTominay and Fred in double pivots.

However, both players failed to do their duties well as they allowed goals to concede. Even though Fred started getting better as the season went on. However, McTominay was consistently bad barring a couple of games.

Moreover, Bruno was in terrible form and this hurt United’s chances at the top. Bruno was very poor in front of the goal and was terrible compared to his previous seasons. His lack of clinical finishing had cost the team on multiple occasions this season.

Milinkovic-Savic and Player leaving

United have started a 55m bid for Milinkovic-Savic and hope to get his services before the season starts. The midfielder has been in great touch this season as he has found the back of the net 11 times and assisted 12 times in 47 appearances in all competitions.

United will lose the services of many key players in the Summer – Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, and Juan Mata being a few. United are in the market for new players as Erik Ten Hag takes over. Ten Hag wants to rebuild the squad and many of the regular players are under scrutiny for a spot in the first eleven. Ten Hag intends to get rid of players who do not fit his play style and get players that do.

Milinkovic-Savic will be a great addition to the squad as he can compete alongside Bruno Fernandes for the spot. Moreover, the competition can help Bruno regain his old form.
