Transfers: PSG to hijack Arsenal target

Arsenal Team

Arsenal had shown interests in Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca. Arsenal was aiming to get Scamacca and was moving in for an offer. However, The Gunners did not make one, and PSG have reportedly made an offer for the striker.

According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG are in discussions with Scamacca’s agent over a potential transfer. Arsenal were moving in quickly for the Italian International as they were 8.5M away from getting Scamacca. However, they quickly dropped their interest as they got hold of Gabriel Jesus. Moreover, Eddie Nketiah signed a new contract with Arsenal and It is likely Arteta does not want a striker.

PSG have not made any agreement with Scamacca, Although it is very easy for PSG to meet his and the clubs demands. PSG are a very imbalanced squad as they do not have a manager capable to manage the big egos within the squad. Moreover, PSG have given control of the squad to Kylian Mbappe to persuade him to stay at the club. Mbappe has the choice to select managers and control the transfers in the club making it more imbalanced.

Scamacca is likely to not get enough game time if he moves to PSG as they already have better players. Scamacca is most likely going to be used as a squad rotation player.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted out on his Twitter handle.

“Talks between Paris Saint-Germain and Sassuolo for Gianluca Scamacca are still ongoing. No agreement in place yet, as Sassuolo want €50m fee – new round of talks this week.

#PSG Campos, big fan of Scamacca – but deal depends on final conditions.”

However, PSG faces competition from Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United who have shown interest in the striker. Although PSG are in the driving seat for Scamacca.
