Newcastle United have shown interest in Inter Milan midfielder Joaquin Correa. Inter wants to reduce the wage bill and wants more funds for the team. They have decided to sell players in the team and one of those players is Correa.
Correa joined Inter Milan after a sensational couple of seasons with Lazio. He scored 17 goals and 6 assists in two seasons for Lazio made Inter sign the midfielder. Correa joined Inter in a season-long loan with a buy clause at the end of the season. Correa scored 6 goals in 31 appearances for Inter in the previous season however he displayed poor performances for the team. He only managed to make 14 starts in all of those appearances. Even though Inzaghi is fond of Correa, He has not managed to repay his faith. Inter Milan looks to sell Correa to gain additional funding and restructure their wage bill to bring in Paulo Dybala.
Dybala has been one of Inter’s primary targets in the transfer window as he is a free agent. Dybala was out of contract at Juventus with them showing no interest in extending his contract. Moreover, Dybala wants to stay in Italy and Inter Milan seems to be his choice. However, Dybala is not the only forward Inter is keen to bring into the squad. They have already made arrangements to bring back Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea in a loan deal. Lukaku returns to the squad after leaving Inter Milan for a fee around the region of 100M. Since Inter has got hold of both these players, The other forwards in the team are excess to their cause. Hence Inter Milan wants to sell some players and Correa is one of the players on the list.
