Transfers: Napoli eyeing Armando Broja situation

Napoli have lost Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea. The Blues found an agreement with a deal that has a price of around 30M. Napoli are trying to use the funds from the transfer to get Armando Broja from Chelsea.

Koulibaly was one of the best center backs on the planet for Napoli. Several clubs had shown interest throughout his career for his signature. However, he rejected all those clubs or the club rejected the bids, and Koulibaly stayed. Manchester United were one of the clubs that came very close to signing the defender however Napoli set a price tag of 75M. The price was too much for United and end up dropping their interest. Although United then went on to add Harry Maguire into the squad a couple of weeks later at a price of 85M making him the costliest defender of all time breaking Virgil Van Dijk’s record.

Napoli are looking into Chelsea defender Armando Broja who is out of love at Stamford Bridge. Broja is a pure striker almost 6ft 1, A real threat in the box. Moreover, he is very versatile and has the ability to be flexible in the final third. In fact, He has played in several positions for Southampton last season as he scored 9 goals and an assist in 38 appearances across all competitions.

West Ham are front runners

Daily Star Journalist Brown had earlier spoken about how Chelsea are handling the Broja situation. He also said that West Ham are front runners for the striker.

“The owners might think, ‘Look, we’ve got a sellable asset here that can bring some money back in and help us to fund some of these transfers that we want.’ So I have a feeling Broja might go towards the end of the window, but that’ll mean West Ham waiting for him.”
