Transfers: Liverpool to identify Mane replacement

Liverpool

Liverpool are eyeing Stade Rennes forward Martin Terrier as a replacement for Sadio Mane. Mane had confirmed earlier that he wished to leave the club after the loss in the Champions League final.

Liverpool had suffered two heartbreaks in the span of a week as they lost the Premier League and the Champions League to Real Madrid. They suffered a third one when Mane declared that he wished to leave the club in the Summer.

Mane wanted a better contract and more importantly better wages. However, Liverpool did not make any headway with his contract as they put more priority on Salah’s contract. This essentially made Mane make a decision and has decided to leave Liverpool. Mane has identified Bayern Munich as a potential club that can fulfill his wage demands.

Martin Terrier: Fox in the box

As Mane is looking to leave, Liverpool would be on high alert as they need to sign a replacement. However, Jurgen Klopp has found the perfect replacement in Stade Rennes striker Martin Terrier. Terrier has been amazing for Rennes as he has racked up 21 goals in all competitions this season. Moreover, he is at the age of 25 when footballers start to peak. Liverpool could get the absolute best out of Terrier if they make a move for him.

Terrier is very similar to Mane as he is fast and gifted. Moreover, he is over 6 feet tall which makes him an odd entity among the Liverpool forwards. The Liverpool forwards are fast and skillful however they are short and weak physically. However, Terrier on the other hand is a presence in the box and can easily win aerial duels. Moreover, He has a very amazing goal output which would give Liverpool supporters hope.

Mane was Klopp’s first signing and his first true success. If Liverpool gets at least half of what Mane offered, Liverpool still gets the win.
