Transfers: Liverpool target Leeds winger Raphinha

About Football Express UK

Liverpool are eyeing Leeds winger Raphinha. Liverpool needs a forward in the Summer as Sadio Mane is leaving. The Reds have identified Raphinha as a replacement for Mane when he leaves. Mane will be moving on to a different league as Bayern Munich appear to be the front runner.

Leeds on the other hand also are eyeing a deal for Takumi Minamino. Minamino has been out of favors ever since he arrived at Liverpool two seasons ago. Minamino has had limited game time and wants to move to a club that offers more game time. Although Minamino does not feature often, he is a fan-favorite among the Liverpool supporters. His contribution to the FA cup games has helped Liverpool win the FA cup.

Focused on the world cup

Liverpool are aiming for a swap deal with Leeds for Raphinha with Minamino. While Minamino won’t have an issue moving to Leeds, Raphinha does not like the appeal of a move to Liverpool. Raphinha wants a move to Barcelona and does not want to move to Anfield. Currently, Raphinha has said that he is only focused on Brazil and the upcoming world cup.

“If I say that it doesn’t matter, I would be lying, knowing that there are less than six months left for the Cup, you have to be active in the clubs, that weighs on the decision, but I trust my potential. If it’s to stay or leave, I’ll do my best, look for my space and I’ll try to be well for the World Cup. I have a contract with Leeds until 2024, my future is in the hands of Deco and Leeds, I have my mind on the national team, on the game and also on my vacation, we need a vacation. I have a contract with Leeds and this issue is resolved by my manager, when something is right, he sends [it to] me.”
