Transfers: Chelsea deal with Kounde 95% done

Jules Kounde

Chelsea have almost completed the deal for Jules Kounde with Sevilla.

Sky reports Graeme Bailey had tweeted out earlier that the deal for Kounde will go Chelsea’s way. The Blues will be signing the player as soon as the transfer window opens.

Experience leaves

Chelsea needs a new defender as they do not have any first-choice center-backs left. Antonio Rudiger left Chelsea for Real Madrid as they were unable to find a contract deal for him. Rudiger had claimed that he wanted to stay however there was no move from Chelsea to extend the contract. Moreover, the sanctions on the club did not help his cause. As such Rudiger had to find another club and Real Madrid were at the door.

Andreas Christensen is leaving the club after a decade of service in search of a new challenge. Christensen had a rough last couple of months as there was a falling out with the manager. Christensen hasn’t played much in the last months and also he has had a terrible attitude off the pitch. He announced he was unavailable for the FA Cup final half an hour before the game started. Hence, Chelsea had to get rid of him however Christensen left on his accord.

Chelsea needs at least a couple of defender before the coming season. Chelsea fans will be brimming as they have almost got hold of Jules Kounde. Kounde wants a move to the Premier League and wants to play under Tuchel. Moreover, Chelsea have shown interest in De Ligt from Juventus. De Ligt has been great for Juventus in the last 3 years and is looking for a move-out. Chelsea are the front runners for De Ligt so far. Moreover, Tuchel being in control of the transfers would help their cause as well.
