Transfers: Bayern Munich frontrunners for Liverpool forward

Liverpool

Bayern Munich have come forward as front runners for Liverpool forward Sadio Mane. Mane has been vital for Liverpool, especially around the second half of the season.

According to sources, Bayern have a real chance to sign Mane in the Summer and the deal could be done with just 42m. The 30-year-old has had a decent season finding the back of the net 23 times and assisting a further five.

The move comes as a surprise as Mane was initially said to be happy at Liverpool and intended to stay. However, the news is against Liverpool as Mane is happy to leave as well. Bayern have been eyeing Mane for a while now. In fact, There were rumors that the German club intended to buy Mane during the January transfer window. Although no deal was finalized and Mane stayed.

However, times have changed and Bayern are in the talking. Real Madrid and Barcelona have shown interest in the 30-year-old as well.

Should Liverpool let Mane leave?

Mane has been one of the most important players for Liverpool. In fact, Mane has been an underrated presence for Liverpool over the years. He along with Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah completed Liverpool’s front three.

The trio were very influential and they were an important part of the squad that won the Champions League. Moreover, Mane was very important in the season when Liverpool finally won the League after 30 years.

Liverpool have made a mess out of finalizing contracts as they have not understood the severity of it. They have mishandled Mane’s as well as Salah’s contract. They have given more importance to Salah’s contract which has made sure that they could not focus on Mane. Essentially letting him go to another club.

Mane has been instrumental for Liverpool and should not be let go in this fashion considering he was Klopp’s first signing as well. Liverpool should evaluate their choice and the Champions League final against Real Madrid in the coming weekend will certainly help them.
