Transfers: Arsenal interested in Juventus midfielder who was compared to Xavi

Arsenal have shown interest in Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo. According to sources, Arthur is close to leaving the Old Lady in the Summer. Moreover, Arthur almost left in January however no deal was finalized.

Arsenal have shown interest in Arthur for a while now. However, they have not made a proper offer yet. Arthur wants to leave the side in the Summer as he has not been able to get enough game time. Massimiliano Allegri has kept the midfielder out of the side and he is out of favors.

And as such, Arthur wants to leave which was also confirmed by his agent in December.

“Arthur came to Juve for another coach, There’s no room for him under [Massimiliano] Allegri. Let’s see what happens in January – we’ll look for the best option taking into account that the World Cup will be played in a year and he wants to be at it.”

Arsenal will be looking to add an experienced yet young midfielder to their squad. Arsenal have the quality however they have lacked the experience to guide their team. Arthur is the perfect player who could bring in the necessary experience and can head the young midfield.

Another Xavi?

Arthur was very instrumental for his previous club FC Barcelona. He had been amazing for the team and was compared to a legend of the Club in Xavi. Xavi spoke highly about Arthur previously. He even went on to say he reminded him of himself.
