Arsenal have made an official bid for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus. Arsenal agrees on terms with City for a 45M fee for Jesus.
The Gunners have lost all their experienced forwards as the season concluded. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang left the club in January and moved to Barcelona. Aubameyang has been lighting up La Liga ever since his transfer. Moreover, Alexandre Lacazette departed the club in the Summer. Although Arsenal have extended Eddie Nketiah’s contract till 2027. They still want a new forward before the new season.
Manchester City have signed Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland in the Summer solving their striker problem. Haaland is one of the hottest assets in world football and City have acquired his services. Moreover, City have added another striker in the form of Alvarez. Gabriel Jesus is out of favors as the new signing would mean lesser game time for the striker. Moreover, Jesus wants a better contract and it is unlikely City will offer him such a contract. While Arsenal will give Jesus the contract he wants and game time to lure him into the club.
Experienced campaigner
Jesus worked together with Mikel Arteta when he was an assistant coach in Manchester City. Both of them have a good relationship and want to work with each other. Moreover, Arteta wants to employ his version of possession-based football at Arsenal similar to that of Manchester City. Since Jesus plays for City, he knows how to play quick passing, efficient football.
Both teams will find themselves benefiting from the transfer. While Manchester City loses a player with 100K/Week in wages. Arsenal gain an experienced striker who can easily adapt to the play style Arteta wants to employ. Arsenal will be looking to head back into the top 4 in the upcoming season.
