Tottenham Hotspur Is Interested In Signing Noni Madueke

About Football Express UK

Tottenham Hotspur wishes to sign Noni Madueke from PSV. The 19-year-old English winger has been a part of the club since 2018. According to certain reports, Tottenham wishes to add another winger to their club.

Noni Madueke was promoted to the first team in 2020 from the PSV under 19 squad. He was a part of the Tottenham youth squad until 2018. Last season he scored 7 goals and made 4 assists while starting just in 7 of them. He had a pass accuracy of 81% in the opponent’s half of the pitch, averaging 86% through the match. He also made 1.6 successful dribbles per 90 and even passed 0.8 key passes per 90. Madueke is currently valued at £14.40m according to Transfermarkt.

Noni Madueke was a part of the Tottenham Hotspur youth development. While there he made his under-18 debut at the age of 15. While on his way to sign for PSV, he rejected a contract to Manchester United. Many would have signed for the Red Devils on the first chance but his choice shows something else. The player knew he wasn’t experienced much in the first team and wished to gain the knowledge. Understanding that with his talent, later on in his career he could play for a top 6 club. He is still 19 years which is very early for most players to make the jump to the top teams. Noni Madueke became a part of the PSV first team last season scoring in the first game of the season.

Why does Tottenham Hotspur wish to resign Noni Madueke?

Last season, Tottenham Hotspur Finished in the 7th position in the league just barely after scoring just 68 goals. From those 68 goals, 23 were scored and 14 were assisted by Harry Kane. This shows how immense Kane is for the club’s position last season and the overreliance they have on him. Tottenham Hotspur had just 4.6 shots per 90 and 10.6 successful dribbles. While this might seem a lot it isn’t as the club played a counter-attacking style of play. Most of their creativity was in the form of long balls to their striker.

If Tottenham Hotspur signs Noni Madueke, they will be investing in younger English talent. At the same time, they will also try to reduce their creative dependence on the talent of the likes of Harry Kane. This transfer won’t help the club in the current season to improve their squad strength and challenge for the top 4. But in the long run, this will be a steal if the club decides to help the player develop to his potential.
