About Football Express UK

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte disclosed that he will soon make a decision on the future of Pape Matar Sarr during pre-season.

The gaffer will closely follow the youngster and assess him based on the performances he projects on the pitch. His first appearance in the Lilywhites outfit came against Team K-League in the Coupang Play Series in the pre-season match.

The Premier League side thrashed the opponents 6-3 in an enthralling friendly match as part of the pre-season. The Senegalese international made his appearance felt soon after the gaffer subbed him on at halftime.

Tottenham boss on Sarr

The midfielder joined the North London side from Ligue 1 outfit, FC Metz, last year for a fee of £14.6 million. However, to gain more experience, Sarr was sent back to Metz on loan for the rest of the season.

Upon his arrival in the English top-flight, the midfielder hopes to regain his form and spot as a regular. Soon after making his appearance for the Lilywhites, Spurs boss Conte spoke on Sarr’s future in a press conference.

He said-

“He’s a young player. Good prospect. Will be the future for Tottenham.

We have Sarr and other young players and we will try with the club to take the best decision for them.”

“It will be very important to take the best decision about whether to stay at Tottenham or go out on loan and play with regularity.”

The midfielder has gained experience after getting regular minutes with the French club outfit last season. However, to cement his spot as a regular in the first team setup at Tottenham, the player will need to prove in pre-season.

Sarr has a few matches to prove himself and to the gaffer before a decision is made regarding his future. It remains to be seen if Sarr can live up to Conte’s level or will he leave out on loan.
