Tottenham drops Christian Eriksen’s interest, Eriksen to stay at Brentford?

Tottenham have allegedly dropped their interest in former player Christian Eriksen. Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during the Euros held last year. Eriksen made his return to football last January as Brentford signed him. He made an instant impact elevating the team as he scored one goal and 4 assists in 11 appearances for Brentford.

Eriksen had a one-year contract with Brentford which ran out in May. Eriksen remains a free agent at the moment. Earlier, Several clubs had shown interest in the midfielder after his spectacular return to top-flight football. Manchester United were one of the clubs in the race for Eriksen. However, according to reports Eriksen rejected the opportunity.

Tottenham drops interest

Tottenham had shown interest in signing Eriksen earlier and had high hopes of signing him. One, Eriksen is a former player and he is loved by the fans. Secondly, Antonio Conte is the manager of Tottenham Hotspurs. Conte and Eriksen worked together during their time at Inter Milan. In fact, Eriksen was a key part of the Inter squad that won the Scudetto. Due to all these reasons, Tottenham were confident of their chances of convincing Eriksen.

However, according to new reports, Tottenham have dropped their interest in signing Eriksen. Tottenham intends to sign another midfielder instead of Eriksen. Eriksen wants to stay at Brentford although Manchester United still believe they can convince him as Erik Ten Hag is a big fan of the player.

Tottenham on the other hand have signed Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic and is looking to add more additions to the squad in Djed Spence. Tottenham is looking to add one more midfielder into the mix before preseason. Eriksen was their original choice however they have dropped their interest.
