UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Thomas Muller warn his international teammate says ‘I am waiting for you’

Thomas Muller, the seasoned forward for Bayern Munich, expressed his anticipation for the UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash with Arsenal. Taking to Instagram, Muller conveyed his excitement and also reached out to Kai Havertz, Arsenal’s dynamic player.

Muller reminisced about Bayern’s dominant performances in previous encounters, including a staggering 10-2 aggregate victory over the Gunners in the 2016/17 season.

However, Muller acknowledged that the current Arsenal squad is a formidable opponent, transformed under the guidance of Mikel Arteta. The team’s resurgence has made them a formidable force in European football.

Muller’s message to Havertz, his compatriot, was one of friendly rivalry, as both players prepare to face off in what promises to be an electrifying match-up.

Thomas Muller : I am waiting for you

The Germany international said in a video on Instagram: “Well, it’s Arsenal! Kai Havertz – my friend – I am waiting for you. No, it’s a nice draw, two very good teams, two very good stadiums, two very good cities. It will be tough, but I am always positive. See you Gunners.”

Bayern Munich reached the UEFA Champions League quarter-final after recording a 3-1 win over Lazio across two legs in the Round of 16, with Harry Kane netting two goals and Muller one.

Arteta will presumably be confident about Arsenal’s chances of reaching the semi-final, although the Spaniard will surely be wary of Muller and Kane. The latter has remarkably scored 14 goals in just 19 appearances against Arsenal throughout his career.

Kane also has 36 goals in just 34 appearances this season. So he is certainly one for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes to keep a close eye on.

The experienced German has scored 54 goals in 149 UEFA Champions League appearances – winning the competition twice. So he will also be more than prepared for this fixture. Whatever happens, it is sure to be a highly entertaining spectacle
