At the business end of the season, all teams, from small to big are trying to create a new, relatively more compatible, talented, young, stronger and consolidated team. As a result, sometimes two or three teams target a common player and thus the bidding contest gets started who can finally make it possible becomes the utmost question for the football lovers.
This is exactly what happened in the case of both Aston Villa and Man United. They both have targeted 60 million euro rated Kalvin Phillips who is a current midfielder of Leeds United. Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard desperately needs him and has shortlisted his name as a priority signing.
He is keen to recruit a new holding midfielder and Phillips and Brighton’s Bissouma will suit them best as Gerrard thinks. But it can be tough for Gerrard to convince those players in the club’s ambitious project as the so-called big club of England Man U has targeted them. Naturally, Kalvin can be tempted to go to Old Trafford despite other big offers.
Man U have claimed that they have made good progress to bring Phillips into their club in this summer transfer window. Besides they have also targeted Declan Rice and Youri Tielemans. Villa might be forced to adopt a patient approach to land their big targets but Gerrard can also get some big ones.
