Ten Hag’s training regiment is too hardcore

About Football Express UK

Erik Ten Hag has set a high standard at Manchester United ever since he came into the club. Ten Hag is stamping his authority on the club steadily and he made his first real move of authority by dropping an unnamed player from the Starting XI in the final match. According to sources, the player was late to training and had infuriated Ten Hag.

Ten Hag has a huge task to fulfill as he tried to bring United back to their former glory. The Dutchman believes he will only be able to do so if the players follow his guidelines. Ten Hag has quickly implemented his rules at Old Trafford to try to get the standards up.

Ten Hag has a list of rules which includes no drinking before the match and personal chefs. Moreover, he has kept a rule on regular BMI tests. He has also instructed that players will be dropped if they are late to training as well.

Abonhalor feels it is “Overkill”

Former Aston Villa player Gabby Agbonlahor questioned Ten Hag’s regiment.

“The players don’t [drink anymore]. They’ll maybe now have a glass of red with dinner, maybe on the weekend or something like that.

The rules Ten Hag is giving are normal rules. Players will always get weighed once or twice a week and it’s normal to keep tabs on what you eat. With the drinking, the players don’t do it anyway. So when he’s come in and given out these rules, the players are probably thinking, ‘we do this anyway, it’s nothing new to us’.

I feel like that’s overkill, [the ban on] personal chefs, they’re going to cook them healthy food. Maybe just tell them these are the sort of foods you’ve got to eat.”
