Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has identified Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans as a target for the club this summer.
The new boss in town, ETH wants several changes to his squad and has few reinforcements to make this summer. However, being unable to sign even a single-player yet in the transfer window has left the manager a bit frustrated.
That said, a long summer awaits them and there is still quite sometime before the transfer window ends. According to The Times, Youri Tielemans has emerged as a midfield prospect for the Red Devils this summer.
The United boss considers his profile to be one that could fit well in the squad for the next season. A bid may well be launched for the Foxes ace soon if the reports are true.
Tielemans to Manchester United
The Foxes midfielder has a year left in his contract and the club would not mind selling him for a decent fee this summer.
Tielemans spoke regarding his future being up in the air and if a potential exit will happen this summer. He said-
“I feel very good at Leicester, I was welcomed with open arms from day one. I give everything for the club until the last day.
“But of course, you have to listen to other opportunities, you have to look at your career, and sometimes you have to make choices. Maybe one will come my way.”
Hinting at a move away from the club, the midfielder could be on course to join the Theatre of Dreams. Manager ETH seems hell-bent to make transfers and he will need to make his target signings now a reality.
Assuming a deal does not go through for Frenkie de Jong, ETH could turn to Tielemans in the midfield. It remains what happens with the midfielder as there is still time left for the transfer window to end.
