Scottish midfielder Ewan Simpson signed a deal for Aston Villa.
Villa have looked very active in the transfer market this season. They have already made six signings this summer.
Ahead of Steven Gerrard’s full season in charge, Villa made all the first team signings under a total amount of £ 50 million. These signings are expected to bring some great results for the Villa team this time in the Premier League. A lot of expectations have been wrested on Gerrard this time to propel Villa to a strong finish this season.
However, the transfer market has not closed yet and more signings are expected. Moreover, a new midfielder and a new striker are said to be on the cards for Villa’s sporting director Johan Lange.
The Midlands club have also strengthened their academy by signing Rangers’ Rory Wilson. Moreover, now another talented teenager joined Villa from Scotland.
Simpson could go on to play an important role for Aston Villa in the future
Villa and Hearts’ confirmation of a move for Simpson was followed by a story by Birmingham Live in the last two days.
Mark Harrison-Villa’s academy manager called Simpson an ‘intelligent midfielder’. However, Villa’s payment of the transfer fee to Hearts has been kept a secret. Moreover, the transfer of the 16-year-old has also not been made official on any of their website or social media pages.
However, this signing could turn out to be very important for Villa. Simpson had been linked to a move to Villa back in April this year after his stellar performances for Hearts at the U18 level.
He had attracted quite a lot of interest from other English clubs as well this season.
Moreover, he is thought to be a ‘potential star-in-the-making’. Therefore, it would be exciting to watch how he progresses over the years and if he can make the first team soon.
