Team News: Liverpool Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester United

Klopp

Liverpool are set to cross swords with rivals Manchester United in the third fixture of their Premier League campaign this season.

The Reds stand 12th in the Premier League table having drawn both their matches before they face the Mancunian side. Whereas, United stands 20th on the table with two losses in two games.

Jurgen Klopp’s men face an injury crisis and a suspension list ahead of the fixture against Erik ten Hag’s side. Here is the complete team news that includes all the injuries and suspension list before the match against United.

Liverpool Injury and suspension list

Thiago Alcantara

Alcantara has suffered a hamstring injury as he was substituted in the 2-2 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage. The Liverpool magician will miss atleast six weeks before he completely recovers and gets back to train with the squad.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Like Alcantara, the 29-year-old also endured a hamstring which supposedly is the most serious at the club. However, the Merseyside club believes he may return only during the mid of October in the training center.

Darwin Nunez

Nunez will serve a three-match ban as he was sent off after a nasty headbutt to his opponent against Crystal Palace. Darwin’s debut hasn’t been an ideal one but is set to make his comeback on September 3 against Everton.

Ibrahima Konate

Ibrahima Konate was taken off from the pitch after suffering a knee injury in the pre-season fixture against Strasbourg. Konate will be out for at least a month and the return will not happen anytime before that.

Curtis Jones

Another player added to the list of players out this summer is Curtis Jones. The player endured a calf injury and could be back early next month as he gets closer to recovery.

Diogo Jota

Jota has also endured a hamstring injury but is close to joining the training sessions with the squad. However, he will miss out on the clash against United and the Liverpool gaffer will need to turn to someone else.
