Luis Suarez shared his experience in the Premier League with Rodrigo Bentancur before the midfielder’s January move to Tottenham Hotspur as per the report in Italian outlet Sky Italy(via Mirror).

The 24-years-old joined Spurs from Juventus in this winter transfer window for around £17 million. The midfielder was also linked with a move to Aston Villa and the Bianconeri turned down two offers from the Villans.

As per the report, Suarez urged Steven Gerrard to sign the Uruguayan midfielder. However, the Midland side could not find a deal with the Serie A giants. Meanwhile, Bentancur contacted two veteran Uruguay internationals Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani to learn about life in England.

The Atletico Madrid man told the Spurs’ new man that The English top-flight is one of the best leagues in the world and playing in the Premier League will help the midfielder to develop his career and his personality.

Will Rodrigo Bentancur be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Rodrigo Bentancur is a great acquisition for Tottenham Hotspur in this January transfer window. The midfielder is strong, good in passing and also has an eye for long-range passing. So, he has the potential to become an integral part of Antonio Conte’s system.

Spurs had players in midfield who were hard-working but they lacked the quality to create chances from the deep. And the Uruguayan can certainly play that role at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Lillywhites have endured three defeats in a row in the Premier League in the crucial moments of the season as they have now lost ground to finish in the top four spots. With Manchester City being the next opponent for the north London club. It will be tough to get back to winning ways in this fixture.

Antonio Conte has already started to express his frustration towards the Spurs management. As the club’s business in this January transfer window did not impress the Italian at all. So, it will be interesting to see if he will walk out from the job if the situation remains the same in summer.
