Spurs considering a move for Kudus

Mohammed Kudus

Spurs, reportedly, are interested in the Ajax playmaker Mohammed Kudus.

The Ghana international though started only four matches in the league last season, but he still managed 16 appearances for Ajax in the Eredivisie. After struggling to get proper playtime, Kudus has set his foot in the door for more match starts. He scored 3 times in the pre-season and also found the net in the 5-3 defeat in the Dutch Super Cup.

According to Ghana Web, Kudus has caught Tottenham’s eyes. They’ve been keeping track of the playmaker for the past few months. The report also hints at Spurs bringing up a deal for the Ghana midfielder. He has 3 years left in his contract. It also suggests that Spurs aren’t in any rush to sign Kudus.

It is believed that if Kudus does not get enough playtime this season, Spurs can be in a better place to conclude the deal next season. With Leicester City asking for £60m for the signing of Maddison, Kudus can be a significantly better value-for-money.

Kudus would surely be a Strong addition at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Ghana international scored six goals last season. He also provided an assist from just 780 minutes of match time last season, according to Transfermarkt. Although, most of it comes from the Dutch second tier. If Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici are able to negotiate a good fee with Ajax for the deal of the 5ft 10in midfielder, he could be a decent squad addition for Conte. With this, he can look to balance PL and Champions League football this season.
