Tottenham Hotspur player ratings against Southampton:
Hugo Lloris(6/10)(GK):
Had a pretty comfortable outing for the Frenchman but conceded the goal which he could do nothing about.
Emerson Royal(6/10)(RWB):
The Brazilian could not provide much attacking threat and in the end, was taken off in the second half.
Davinson Sánchez(6/10)(RCB):
Didn’t require to do much defensively after the opposition went down to 10 men. So, it was a comfortable night for the Colombian.
Eric Dier(6/10)(CB):
The centre back didn’t require much defensive work in the second half.
Ben Davis(6.5/10)(LCB):
The Welshman played his part really well in defence and overall a good performance.
Sergio Reguilon(6/10)(LWB):
The Spaniard did enjoy a great first half and was substituted at the interval, having picked up a booking.
Harry Winks(6.5/10)(CDM):
Could become an integral part of Antonio Conte’s system in future as he made quite a few great passes from the deep.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg(6/10)(CM):
Started against his former employer but lacked creativity. Therefore, Conte’s side struggled to create many chances to score.
Dele Alli(6/10)(CAM):
Need to pick up his level. He has to link up more with the forward players to stay in the first eleven.
Son Heung-Min(7/10)(CF):
The South Korean had yet another great day, won the penalty and was also the best player on the pitch for the visitors.
Harry Kane(6.5/10)(CF):
Converted the penalty well and looked very good. Positive signs for the Spurs fans.
Substitute:
Lucas Moura(6.5/10)(RW):
Replaced Alli around the hour mark and had a good moment to score but his first touch wasn’t good enough. The Brazilian should start ahead of Dele Alli.
Matt Doherty(6.5/10)(LWB):
Played the whole second half and had a decent game but should have provided better crosses for the forward players.
Bryan Gil(6/10)(RWB):
Replaced Emerson and tried to provide crosses for the strikers but the quality of the deliveries was not up to the mark.
