Saka has said it is his dream to play in the Champions League after Thursday’s win against Wolves.

The Gunners won away at an in-form Wolverhampton Wanderers team despite going down to 10 men for the final stages of the game. However, the Gunners hung on to the lead they had established in the first half.

Arsenal has struggled in the initial weeks of 2022. However, manager Mikel Arteta would have been pleased with the effort at Molineux stadium. Meanwhile, this would keep Arsenal in the race for a top-four finish.

The Gunners are currently in the sixth spot in the Premier League table. They can now watch how their rivals Chelsea would play in the Club World Cup. This means they have no Premier League fixture to fulfil.

Saka on his dream

Meanwhile, Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has said that it is his ‘dream’ to play Champions League football. The Gunners academy product has enjoyed an impressive season. Meanwhile, he is also one of the most important players in Arteta’s enterprising young team.

However, rumours have surfaced in recent weeks about possible problems with a contract extension. This might cause the Arsenal fanbase a little concerned over the England international’s long-term future in the Emirates.

In the latest interview, Saka said:

“I think the Champions League creates so many special nights and it’s a dream for me still to experience one of them and hopefully many more of them,”.

On the other hand, Arteta commented on his team’s poor disciplinary records.

“We played three games out of five with 10 men, and if that’s one of the things in the last 17 games that we continue to do, our chances to be where we are going to be really low,”

We have to play with 11 players on the pitch. We need most of the players available and fit as much as possible.”

However, Gabriel Martinelli was given two yellow cards in quick succession. As a result, this made the Gunners make a nervy finish to the game.
