About Football Express UK

Sadio Mane along with Mohammad Salah have been the stars for Liverpool for the past 3 years.

Salah has been consistent every season whereas Mane’s form dipped last season. Sadio Mane just scored 11 goals in 35 games last season.

Liverpool is looking to keep Mane till 2025. His current contract will expire in 2022. The Scousers want to keep Mane and Salah for some years because they want to be contenders.

Do Liverpool have a back-up option for Sadio Mane?

Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby is termed as the next ” Sadio Mane”. The winger displayed his best performance against a 4-0 thrashing of Real Betis. He scored a brace and registered two assists.

Diaby is a pacy winger who possesses the attributes to beat defenders. His goal-scoring numbers are not that great but are improving.

According to Calciomercato, Liverpool will have to pay £38 million for Diaby. He has scored 6 goals and has 4 assists in the Bundesliga and the Europa League.

Is Sadio Mane getting back to his form?

Sadio Mane had the worst start to a season last year. He only scored 11 goals in the league which is less for a player like him.

But Mane is turning the tide this season, he has scored 6 goals already in 10 games in the Premier League.

In his best season at Liverpool (2018/19), he scored 22 goals in 38 PL games. In the UCL, Mane was key against Bayern Munich in the RO16. He scored 2 goals in the second leg as Liverpool progressed ahead.

In the next season itself, Sadio Mane scored 19 goals and had 9 assists in 38 PL games.

Even at Southampton, Mane established a brilliant personal record. He scored the fastest hat-trick in the PL in just 176 seconds against Aston Villa. Not only this but while at Southampton, Mane has always scored in double figures.

He, along with Salah, became the perfect goal-scoring machine for Liverpool. Whilst Liverpool does not need a creative player, Mane is capable of doing both. It is clear that Salah is the better goal scorer but Mane is also getting back to his form
