Report: Manchester City may need replacement for Bernardo Silva

About Football Express UK

Manchester City are on the verge of offloading midfielder Bernardo Silva to La Liga outfit Barcelona in the transfer window.

The Cityzens have agreed to sell Silva this summer to the Catalan giants with the player keen on his exit. The Mancunian side have set an asking price of £84million in order to secure the services of the midfielder.

However, it is a known fact that Barcelona are facing turmoil in terms of finances due to the previous board. But the club is making all attempts in their pursuit to land the player at Camp Nou this summer.

Pep Guardiola has given the green light to Silva in his move to the Catalan giants for the new season. In an interview he said-

“At the end, for the club, for the players, for the agents, many reasons. Sometimes you have to sell.

Players have desire and I’m not a person to stop a person desire in life. Football career is so short.

I’m a small part of the club, I have to speak to the club, they decide and I say okay.”

Manchester City could find replacement for Silva

With the Cityzens close to selling Silva to Barcelona, the underlying question is will the Cityzens look for a replacement?

As the transfer window is still on, City could look to find a replacement for Silva to add depth to the squad. Matheus Nunes and Lucas Paqueta are among the names that are being linked to clubs across the English top flight.

There is a real possibility that Guardiola could look to add another midfielder if Silva leaves Etihad this summer.

It remains to be seen if Barcelona can seal the deal for Silva and if City look to add another midfielder.
