Chelsea have made a new bid for Everton attacker Anthony Gordon as their first bid of £40million was rejected.
The Toffees were not too convinced with the initial bid placed by Chelsea for the 21-year-old as they value him much more. Gordon is seeking an exit and is on his way out of Goodison park this summer in the transfer window.
Moreover, the Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is really keen on landing the winger at Stamford Bridge for the new season. Chelsea have a new bid in place in the region of £45m for the player in the window.
Everton have rejected the new offer made by Chelsea
While Chelsea are pushing to land Gordon this summer with a new bid, Everton have rejected the offer once again. The Blues have already spent £47.5m on Raheem Sterling from Manchester City and are open to splashing some for Gordon.
However, according to the Guardian, the Toffees have officially rejected the latest offer in place for the attacker. Frank Lampard and the board believe that Chelsea would need to up their game in order to secure the move.
With his impressive display on the pitch, the player has attracted clubs across the English top flight this summer. Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United were among the clubs interested to make a swoop for Gordon in the transfer window.
However, Thomas Tuchel and the management were one step ahead in pursuit for the player but have had both offers rejected. Former Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti heaped praise on the young lad from Goodison Park last summer.
He said-
“He improved in the past six months and how he is playing [in training and games] gives me a lot of confidence and trust in him. Gordon is a player with personality.”
Undoubtedly, the player’s performances have impressed a lot of big names in the football industry. However, it still remains to be seen if Chelsea can land him at the Bridge this summer.
