“Reminds me of James Milner”- Arsenal legend Paul Merson suggests Liverpool sign Jarrod Bowen

About Football Express UK

Arsenal legend turned football pundit Paul Merson has suggested Liverpool sign West Ham star, Jarrod Bowen.

This came after Sadio Mane decided to look for a new challenge for the next season ahead of the transfer window. Amid the transfers, Merson suggested Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool sign West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen this summer.

The Arsenal legend believes Bowen has what it takes to make it at Liverpool. Reminding him of the Reds veteran James Milner, he said-

“He reminds me of a forward version of James Milner – reliable, honest and works his socks off, he’s been linked with a move to Liverpool and at the moment, I think he’d be a great squad player for them. He won’t go in there and take someone’s spot immediately, but Liverpool play a lot of games and their brand of football is intense, so he’ll have plenty of game time under his belt.”

Will Bowen join Liverpool?

Bowen has registered 18 goals and provided 13 assists in 51 games for The Hammers this season across all competitions.

Instrumental in helping the club in securing a Conference League spot, Merson believes the winger could flourish under Klopp.

Being pivotal at West Ham, he could provide a threat upfront integrating with Salah at Liverpool if the transfer happens. With his contract expiring in 2025, the Hammers will look to secure a profitable fee for the player.

Luis Diaz, Salah, and Firmino have relished decent performances on the pitch this season. This would mean Bowen’s game time could be slashed under Klopp.

A potential move to Anfield may seem tricky considering the likes of Nunez already reaching an agreement with the Reds. The manager could be interested in the idea of adding depth to the squad. However, it remains to be seen if Klopp makes a move for the winger this summer.
