Brighton and Hove Albion have reportedly set a £50 million price tag on star defender Ben White amid interests from other Premier League clubs.

The 23-years-old defender came into the spotlight after having an excellent 2019-2020 season. The former Southampton youth player spent the entire season on loan at Leeds United. White played an important part in the Peacocks’ promotion under Marcelo Bielsa.

In the subsequent campaign, Leeds tried to bring the English defender back to Elland Road but Brighton priced out the defender from any possible transfer. The England International had a steady season that recently concluded for the Seagulls. Ben White made 36 appearances for Graham Potter’s side and earned 11 clean sheets.

The 23-years-old defender is not tall, however, he is good on the ball and can read the game well. White does not have a blistering pace in his armoury but he is a hard defender to get past in one on one situations. And most importantly Ben White adapted to the Premier League without any trouble.

Will Ben White go to either of the Premier League clubs?

According to Daily Mail, Ben White’ impressive debut season in the Premier League has attracted the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool. And amid that interest, Brighton have set a £50 million price tag on their star defender.

The report also claims that The Seagulls are not looking to sell their star man this summer. However, the £50 million offer will be hard for Brighton to turn down amid this financial crisis. The Club’s executive Paul Barber has admitted that it will be hard for the club to hold on to their stars for long as the players will be looking to step forward in their career.

The England manager Gareth Southgate has included Ben White in the final 26 men squad for the Euro 2020. After Trent Alexander-Arnold was ruled out from the competition due to injury.

This unexpected turn of an event can increase Ben White’s price over the summer. If the defender can shine in the Euro 2020. However, there are still doubts that is White ready to take the next step just yet or should he remain at Brighton and gain more experience? Only time will tell.
