Potential Liverpool lineup and key changes for next season

Jurgen Kloop will be leaving the reds in few days. His replacement may bring some key changes to Liverpool. Replacing a man like Kloop will be not easy but the reds have to focus on next season and try their best for the club. Various managers had been linked with Liverpool over the past weeks. However Arne Slot is rumoured to be very close to take charge of Anfield. It has not been confirmed yet but soon the reds may announce the joining of the Dutch Manager.

Along with Feyenoord manager, two players are heavily linked with Liverpool. They may be seen following Slot’s path to Premier League. Mats Wieffer was linked with Liverpool last season too according to Liverpool Echo. He was linked way before Kloop announced his departure. The 24 year old Dutch international playes as a defensive midfielder.

Another Dutch international linked with Liverpool is Lutsharel Geertruida. Geertruida is 23 years old versatile player. He can play as right back, centre back and defensive midfielder too.

What could be the changes in Liverpool lineup

Liverpool have played under Kloop with a 4-3-3 formation. Even though Slot has used the same this season, he very likely seema to be using 4-2-3-1 for the next season at Anfield. Most of the current players will have no problem to fit in their roles and the incoming transfers may also help for better adaption.

Arriving of Geertruida and emergence of Conor Bradley this season will take the right back position. This can cause Arnold to move forward and adapt as defensive midfielder. Arnold likes to go forward and help in attack. Though he will need time to adapt he could use help from midfield partner. Arrival of Wieffer could pair him with Arnold forcing Alexis Mac Allister to move forward. Mac Allister could then play more in his preferred area and achieve more exposure. The transfer window ahead could prove very crucial to the reds and may decide their future in 2024/25 season.
