Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will be a free agent next June. The Red Devils are not contemplating offering him a new contract.
According to Marca, Manchester United have already decided to not renew his contract. Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint Germain are monitoring the situation.
The report also claims that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen to bring Paul Pogba. The only hindrance will be any association with Pogba’s agent Mina Raiola.
Paul Pogba started the season wonderfully. He had 4 assists in his first game itself and now has 7 assists in 13 appearances. Pogba has failed to make an impression in the big games and was also sent off against Liverpool.
Was Paul Pogba successful at Manchester United?
Paul Pogba cannot be called a failure at Manchester United. He first left the club in search of game time and then returned. Pogba was indeed horrible under Jose Mourinho.
The main intention of Manchester United was to build the team around Pogba and they have failed to do that.
Pogba is brilliant whenever he plays for France. He runs France’s midfield with energy and intelligence. Pogba’s passing is also very great and whenever he scores, it’s always a banger. Pogba flourished for France in the World Cup 2018, Euros 2021 and the Nations League as well.
At United this rarely happens, of course, Pogba is responsible for it but not entirely. When he plays for France he has N’golo Kante with him whereas now he has Fred. The quality of the defensive midfielders differs a lot when comparing Kante and Fred.
Pogba has a free role and does not have to contribute much defensively with France. This happens because of the presence of a great defensive midfielder who has been absent at Manchester United for a lot of time.
The club sold Daley Blind and Ander Herrera who possibly could have been way better than Fred at CDM.
There is a reason why Pogba is compared to the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard. This is because of his calibre and potential. Despite Manchester United making the wrong signings, surely Pogba can perform up to his potential.
