Nottingham looking forward to signing Wallace

About Football Express UK

Nottingham Forest is looking out for the possibility to sign Jed Wallace. As per journalist John Percy, The Millwall talisman may sign for the Championship side in the winter transfer window.

Meanwhile, Wallace has proven himself one of the most lethal forwards in the EFL Championship in recent years. He has 25 goals and provided 23 assists in the 2019/20 campaign. The winger has 16 direct goal contributions in the previous season for Millwall.

Wallace started his youth career for Darby Green and went on to make his senior debut for Portsmouth. He signed for Millwall in the summer of 2017 and went on to score 36 goals in 179 appearances.

However, the Millwall forward is out of contract in the summer of 2022 and will be a free agent. It will be a good signing for Nottingham and would boost their forward line.

Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, is going through a season full of ups and downs. They have 34 points out of the 25 matches played and are currently 9th in the league table. Steeve Cooper’s side has won 3 out of the last 5 matches played and is slowly gaining momentum.

As a result, if Nottingham manages to sign Wallace from Millwall in the winter transfer window, it might help them to climb up the league table.

However, this potential signing won’t be good news for the likes of Xande Silva and Joe Lolley. Wallace, Lewis Grabban, Philip Zinckernagel, Keinan Davis, and Brennan Johnson are all likely to be ahead of the duo in the front three if the Millwall man arrives. The future of the players will be in doubt.

Other clubs in the race

Turkish side Besiktas has also shown interest in the 27-year-old forward. As per several reports, the Turkish club is looking forward to signing a pre-agreement with the winger.

Apart from it, Wallace is also looking for other options as he is not going to renew his contract. So, Nottingham can bag the forward for any price around $10m.
