Nottingham Forest 1-0 Arsenal: the Gunners player ratings

Player ratings: Arsenal lost to Championship side Nottingham Forest by 1-0 at the City ground and failed to progress to the next round of fixtures in the F.A Cup. 

Mikel Arteta’s side displayed a very poor display and failed to hit an attempt on target throughout the game. On the other hand, the hosts set up to hit the opposition in transition. In the end, Steve Cooper’s side scored the goal thanks to second-half substitute Lewis Grabban and progressed to the next round. 

After producing a terrific performance against Manchester City in the last game in the Premier League. This defeat will be a big setback for a young Arsenal squad. 

Arsenal player ratings against Nottingham Forest:

Bernd Leno – 6/10

The German started the game and made two saves but failed to keep a clean sheet and keep his side in this competition. 

Cedric Soares – 6/10

The Portuguese started the game ahead of Takehiro Tomiyasu and had a decent enough game defensively. 

Ben White – 6/10

The Englishman was good with the ball as usual but lacked efficiency in aerial duels. 

Rob Holding – 6/10

Started the game as a captain and played very well. Defensively he was very good. 

Nuno Tavares – 6/10

He suffered an injury in the first half and had to be taken off. 

Charlie Patino – 6/10

The youngster started the game and displayed a promising performance. 

Albert Sambi Lokonga – 6/10

Got the chance as two midfielders went for international duty. So, he has to step up his game. 

Gabriel Martinelli – 5/10

Wasn’t his best performance of the season and needs to show consistency more. 

Martin Odegaard – 6/10

Should have influenced the game more against a mid-table Championship side. 

Bukayo Saka – 6.5/10

The youngster played well but could not make a single shot on goal. 

Eddie Nketiah – 5.5/10

Missed a big opportunity. He can’t play for a big team if he performs like this. He needs to step up his game. 

Substitute: 

Kieran Tierney – 6/10

Replaced Tavares in the first half and played decently. 

Alexandre Lacazette – 5/10

The experienced forward came midway through the second half but failed to influence the game. 

Sead Kolasinac – N/A 

Came in the stoppage time of the game and there was not enough time to influence the game.
