Manchester United have not submitted any bid for Porto striker Evanilson despite rumors of €70m turned down by the club.
Evanilson has been linked to a move away from the Portuguese club this summer. With reports previously suggesting that Manchester United were interested to plot a transfer for the Brazilian striker this summer.
The very same reports suggested that Manchester United were ready to ‘splash’ upwards of €65m for the striker. However, the rumors have been put to rest by a reliable source.
Fabrizio Romano, who specializes in transfers, took to Twitter to share the major update on Evanilson. He said-
“He’s not in Man United list as of today.”
“Evanilson, not a topic.”
The Porto striker relished an impressive campaign with the club winning the league title this season. As the rumors of a move to the Old Trafford were circling, fans of the club appeared to be very excited.
However, it appears as though the player is not even a topic of discussion for Erik ten Hag. With the rumors being quashed, the gaffer could look for an alternative upfront for the next season.
Porto striker headed for a new destination?
The transfer window every year as always is an exciting period to look out for. This time too, clubs have made some brilliant signings (at least on paper) in the initial half of the window.
Players from the Portuguese clubs have been a subject of great interest to many during this period. Darwin Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica, Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira signed for Arsenal and now Evanilson has been linked to an exit.
Though the Brazilian striker may not be under the radar of the Red Devils, it may very well be possible that he could be a prospect for another club.
Moreover, an exit appears to be on the horizon for Evanilson this summer. Other clubs could come forward and take matters into their hands.
However, it remains to be seen which club now makes a swoop considering the striker is in very good form.
