Nicolas Pepe set to become free agent

Nicolas Pepe promised a bright future after his emergence to professional football. Pepe was born in France and started his career at Poitiers. He came into attention when he joined Lille Olympique sporting club often referred to as LOSC Lille. He became a Lille player in 2017 and had huge impact on the French side. Pepe made his choice to represent Ivory Coast and has scored 10 goals for the national team till now.

Nicolas Pepe was having a great time with Lille and gaining attention from big clubs. Arsenal were very impressed with the youngster and made a move to sign him. The Gunners paid a club record fee of £72 million at that time. However Pepe was unable to continue his form with the Premier League side. The inconsistency in scoring from the Ivory Coast international disappointed Mikel Arteta and made him to take some hard decisions.

Nicolas Pepe only managed to score 27 goals in 112 games across all competitions for Arsenal. The gunners decided to send Pepe on loan to OGC Nice in 2022. After the 2022-23 season, the gunners wanted to part ways with Pepe but failed to receive any deal for him. This made Arsenal to terminate Pepe’s contract last year.

Pepe to run out of contract

Pepe’s exit from Arsenal was followed by approach of Turkish club. Trabzonspor Kulübü signed Pepe on a one year deal. The Ivory Coast international has still not been able to claim the spot of regular starter in Turkish Club. Despite scoring 5 goals and providing 1 assist in 17 league games, Trabzonspor don’t seem to be impressed. The Turkish club is not going to extend his contract . According to The Mirror, Pepe has received offer from Saudi but the Ivory Coast international wants to stay in Europe. As things stand, Nicolas Pepe is set to become free agent after June 30, when his contract expires.
