Aston Villa

Philippe Coutinho has lost his place at Barcelona as he continued his lacklustre performances. Moreover, The Brazilian had the opportunity to rejuvenate his career at Barcelona due to a brief stint at Bayern Munich. However, Coutinho has failed to utilize his chances and finds him playing at Aston Villa.

Philippe Coutinho has been brilliant for Aston Villa so far. He has made several contributions to the side most notably his debut performance against Manchester United. Under former teammate Steven Gerrard, Coutinho has flourished and regained his mojo. Coutinho has impressed Villa so much that they want to make the move permanent. There were talks between Barcelona and Villa regarding Coutinho.

However in a turn of events, Newcastle United have entered into play. They have started talks with Barcelona for Coutinho who has a 40m price tag. This is a huge blow to Aston Villa as they wanted the midfielder at Villa Park for the next season.

The Robinho

Newcastle United require a couple of big signings to be considered a top club. Even though they have the funds from the Saudi takeover, They still require the services of some big players. Manchester City were in the same position as Newcastle years ago however they managed to get Robinho which changed their fortunes. Newcastle need their Robinho and Coutinho could prove to be the one they need.

Steven Gerrard insists on making a Permanent deal

Steven Gerrard has spoken highly of Coutinho since he arrived at Villa Park. He still wishes for a permanent deal for Coutinho in the Summer. He spoke about Coutinho and his importance in the coming games.

“We have five games in 15 days so Phil and Emi will both get enough game time to keep themselves satisfied. As a club, we want to be in a place where games come thick and fast.

Phil understood the decision, he has played a lot. There are no egos here.”
