Newcastle United planning to sign Chelsea academy graduate

Newcastle United

Newcastle United have been one of the most improved teams in the recent years. The transformation of the team has been worth watching. However the club currently needs to get their finance right as they are facing financial regulations. They need to sell some stars this transfer window before signing. Same is the situation with Chelsea. The blues are currently looking to put some of their stars out on sale. Current rumours say that Newcastle are planning to make a move for Chelsea youngster who made his debut recently.

Todd Boehly took over at Chelsea in 2022 and ever since has reported spending more than £1 billion. Despite spending this much amount, Chelsea have failed to qualify for Champions league consecutively. Before making any new signings, the blues need to get their financial books right and avoid restrictions. Chelsea are willing to sell many of their stars including academy products to get more profit.

Conor Gallagher is reported to exit the Stamford bridge at the end of the season. Newcastle were interested in Gallagher but they will not go after him this summer according to the Geordie Boot Boys. However the Magpies are interested in another Chelsea academy player and are planning to make a move for him.

Newcastle impressed by Chelsea academy star

The Chelsea academy star who has impresses the magpies is Josh Acheampong. Acheampong has recently turned 18. Even though his priority is playing as right back he could be used in all positions of defense. Acheampong made his Premier League debut just 2 days before his 18th birthday on Stamford bridge. He played against Tottenham where the blues managed to win comfortably.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe while talking with Gary Neville revealed what he has in mind. According to Eddie Howe, Newcastle need to sign players at cheap price before they get recognition. Once signed they can develop them at the club itself. So according to his plans, Acheampong is a perfect candidate as he also loves versatile players. The Magpies could be seen making a move for 18 year old fullback.
