NEWCASTLE UNITED 0 – 4 MANCHESTER CITY: REVIEW

Manchester City made a quick start when an error from Ciaran Clark gifted them their first goal. Ruben Dias was at the end of a lofted ball from Cancelo.

Cancelo soon became the scorer when his wonderful effort from outside the box beat goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. There was controversy at the other end when Manchester City keeper Ederson seem to have fouled Ryan Fraser. However, the referee and the VAR did not seem worthy of a penalty.

The third goal came from Mahrez in the 63rd minute. A beautiful cross from Oleksandr Zincenko was placed into the net by the Algerian. While the referee called it for an offside, the check from VAR overturned the decision in favour of the visitors.

The best chance for Newcastle came in the 80th minute when a powerful header from Callum Wilson was saved swiftly by Ederson. Manchester city soon added the 4th goal of the match when the cross from Jesus was met by Sterling.
